That's harmless -- the gavo user by default doesn't have a home. I
suppose I should somehow shut the message up, but I've been too lazy
so far to research the pertinent Debian policy.

That *was* normal. However, I finally realised it's annoying people
for no good reason, and hence starting 2.5 (IIRC) DaCHS no longer
issues the warning.
During installation, it's harmless and expected.
