The main reason there's no native HDF5 support is that I've not had
any actual data to deal with yet. That HDF5 is a fairly complex
format is a secondary concern, of course: There's just a large number
of parameters exactly what and how an HDF5 file could be translated
into a sequence of dictionaries.
Here's a suggestion: If you, Carlos, could indeed hack a custom
grammar for now and then give me the RD and a couple of your datasets
(or a subset of the table, if that's what it is), I'll try my hand in
one or two HDF5 grammars -- two because I expect like FITS HDF5 will
need a grammar just yielding global metadata (like fitsProdGrammar),
and one yielding rows from embedded tables (liek fitsTableGrammar).
